Heartwood (installation)
Alternative process photographs of one man and a crane lifting away the severed limbs of a 350-year-old oak tree in our Walnut Creek backyard — as my marriage and family were being dismantled.
Ideas of separation, trauma, and familial discord embed earlier bodies of my photographs and drawings. They often capture ideas of play and abandonment. This work takes on a variety of artistic expressions including paintings, original wood, and cyanotypes, and will be shown as a visual poem projected in video format.
