I paint, draw and photograph the world. My often provisional work encapsulates gestating yet gesturally exuberant extensions of my thoughts in any medium including site-specific installations. Currently I paint and photograph what moves me to expose bits and pieces of the underbelly of our subconsciousness. We are not really what we see. We don’t always know what we know. Earlier bodies of photographs and drawings captured ideas of play and abandonment.

Painting for me vacillates between figurative, observational and complete abstraction. My hands share what my intellect can’t. Most interested in the effects of unseen labor (including non-human) that keep our environment and families functioning, I am in the process of identifying a language of my own that connects these ideas as we begin to define the Anthropocene.

Even with today’s technology and human advances, we exist in an ever more environmentally and socially broken society. Abstract, knotted or pixelated “nets” of invisibilia connect us and help me to share my emotional losses and joys in this postmodern world.

"Often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain."
